Say Hello to My Styled Life

I'm sure some of you are aware that there haven't been any recent posts here on this blog the past few months and I kept meaning to explain why, but time got away from me! Well the wait is now over and I'm excited to share that back in January I decided to launch a new blog called My Styled Life.

While I loved this blog and it taught me so much, over time it became more about fashion than beauty. Don't get me wrong, I still love all things makeup, but I wanted a new blog that aligned more with my current interests! That led to the creation of My Styled Life, a life & style blog where I share my belief that everyday is an opportunity to be styled.

All further posts will be on My Styled Life, so I hope that you join me on this new journey and I thank all of you for your continued support! Be sure to enter your email in the sidebar on my new blog to stay updated when I write new posts!

Stylish Layering Tips

It has seriously been so cold lately...okay I will admit that my definition of cold probably isn't the same as yours, #californiagirl, but with the chilly weather in mind, today I'm sharing my tips on how to layer your clothing stylishly.

1. Rock a Graphic Tee - When I layer I love being able to see a bit of every layer, but when you see the first layer and it's plain, it can be kind of boring. To solve this dilemma, I love wearing a graphic tee as my first layer. I think it makes a look more fun and it's the perfect way to express your personality. The one I have on has different sayings about the ocean. Totally appropriate right?!

2. Go for a Pop of Color - When I wear a bunch of layers together that are all in the same neutral color palette, I like to add some sort of pop of color to the look to mix things up. For this outfit, that color was the neon orange on the edge of the jacket. In the past, I've incorporated color through accessories such as a maroon-colored beanie or even a bold berry lip.

3. Mix up Prints - I think that part of the fun in layering is getting to pair different prints together. For this look, I accomplished this by wearing a striped scarf and a plaid flannel! While I chose to mix prints through using an accessory, you could keep it simple and just wear two different printed tops/sweaters.

I hope these three tips help! Thanks for reading!

Oh What A Year! 2015!

And just like that 2015 was over! Isn't it crazy how fast the year went by!

This year has honestly been one of the most challenging yet rewarding years! For those of you who don't know, I'm a full-time college student (studying business administration with an emphasis in marketing and minor in public relations) in addition to being a blogger and YouTuber. These past two semesters and more specifically this past Fall 2015 semester was honestly the hardest semester of college I've experienced in regards to the academic classes I took and coursework that went with them. At times it was very challenging to juggle school, blogging, YouTubing, and having a social life, but I made it through and now I can honestly say that it was so worth it.

The past year my blog and YouTube channel have grown so much and everyday I'm thankful for the opportunities that they have provided me. I have met so many amazing women bloggers and worked with so many great companies over the course of 2015, with Dooney and Bourke being the highlight. A year ago I could never have dreamed of working with such a well-known and respected company yet here I am now having done it. I feel so incredibly blessed and I cannot wait to see what 2016 holds. Thank you to everyone who reads and follows my blog as well as my other social media. It is because of you that I have remained encouraged to continue pursuing what I love.

Since this year is coming to a close, below is a roundup of my favorite posts from 2015!

There are some big changes coming in 2016 so stay tuned!

New Year's Eve Makeup Tutorial

I'm all about glitz and glam so NYE is basically the best night! While dressing up in something sparkly is practically essential, I love doing a fun makeup look as well! For a totally glittery look, watch the video below!

Happy NYE!!

Night Out - NYE Outfit

Can you believe it's New Year's Eve?! Being the total last minute girl I am, I'm still figuring out my plans for tonight, but for those of you planning on going out I wanted to give you some outfit inspiration.

In my book, you can never go wrong with an LBD (little black dress), but since it's NYE I thought some sparkle was necessary too. It's practically mandatory right?! These heels are my prized possessions! Since I'm totally into all things glam and sparkly I'm sure you can understand why!!

While you could just stick with an LBD and sparkly shoes, I went a step further and added a cozy blanket scarf. The weather has been cold lately so I wanted a layer to put on that was stylish without covering up most of the dress. Then I went for more texture and chose to pair my black fur clutch with the look!
