Comfy Winter OOTD

Yesterday it was colder outside and when I was trying to figure out a warm, cozy outfit that was also stylish, I came up with this cute combination!

This is the perfect outfit for fun winter shopping day or going out to a casual lunch with friends. The sweater is super cozy and paired with a statement necklace, the looks becomes chic. Add your favorite pair of skinny jeans, booties, and a beanie (optional) and you have a great combo! Plus you can always trade out the booties for a cute pair of uggs or snow boots if the weather isn't permitting you to wear booties.

While some of these exact items may not be available, similar ones will be linked below along with the items that are available.

Details:

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation Review

Happy Tuesday!! This morning I was relaxing on my cozy couch thinking of a product to review on my blog and after a few minutes it was clear that the product I must review is the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation!

I had heard great things about this foundation from a few different beauty gurus for months (the line has been out for a while now), but couldn't decide whether to try it out. I tend to be a person of habit especially when I'm already using a product I really like (which was my Clinique Superbalanced Makeup). Then on Christmas Day I opened my stocking to find a bottle of the CG Ready Set Gorgeous and so of course I had to try it out!! While I haven't been using it very long, I am OBSESSED! It is just one of those products where I knew from the first application that it was going to be a new favorite.

The foundation is a medium coverage, but definitely buildable. I have some acne so in those areas I apply a little extra foundation to cover it up. You can definitely sheer it down too if you want a more light coverage. What I really love about this foundation is that it dries matte, leaving the skin looking so smooth. Another plus is that I don't find this foundation to be heavy on the face and in my experience it doesn't get cakey.

For my skin tone which is more of a light beige color (but not super pale) number 115 works perfectly! I know it can be difficult to figure out your color at the drugstore but you can always look at different color swatches online and compare the shades other people are using with their skin tones to your skin tone. Here's a picture in which I was wearing the foundation and swatches of it on the back of my hand.

The first swatch makes the foundation seem like it's maybe not the right color, but when blended in it is perfect for my skin tone and takes away some of the redness of my skin.

I absolutely love this foundation and you really cannot go wrong for the price!

Perfect New Year's Eve Sweater!!

hey lovelies!

So it's almost New Year's Eve and I'm sure many are on the hunt for the perfect outfit that is both cute and comfortable! My mom shared with me some cute finds and I wanted to show you all these two sweaters!

Both are from Express and are sweaters with a sequined front! The first is black and the second is gray. To make these more NYE appropriate, pair them with black leather pants and your favorite pumps! Add a stylish clutch and you have an outfit that is cute, comfy, and perfect for NYE.

December Dress OOTD

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I wanted to share an easy outfit of the day that is perfect for winter days that are a bit warmer! I actually wore this outfit Christmas Eve Day but it is so cute I had to share!

I love wearing dresses in the winter with leggings! So for this look, I paired a dress I got a few years back from Target with a pair of Mossimo black leggings (also from Target). This combo makes the outfit super comfy as well as put together. Then I added my Steve Madden gray boots, an oversized belt from Nordstrom, and one of my favorite cardigans from Nordstrom to complete the look. You can also add some jewelry (I added a necklace) or just play it simple with none.

Where I live the weather doesn't get too cold in the winter, but if you live somewhere where it does, add a longer warm coat with this outfit and a cute beanie and you will have yourself a cute, warm, and stylish outfit!

Love you all!

December Has Arrived!! + Anthropologie Gold Monogram Mugs

So I know I'm a few days past the 1st of December, but Happy DECEMBER! I couldn't be more excited for this month; the holidays are always such a fun time!! I love all the lights and decorations that seem to be everywhere you go and the music really puts me in the spirit of the season!

While I will be doing a video on my favorite small gifts for her (friends, mom, sister, etc), and this item may be included... ;) I wanted to share it here first! It is the Anthropologie Gold Monogram Mug! If you don't know anything about Anthropologie or have never heard of this store, all year long they sell cute black monogrammed mugs that are perfect for hot tea, coffee, or anything else you love to drink. Around Christmas time though, they come out with a gold version that is so dang adorable!! It's perfect for the season (of course you can drink out of it year round too!) and I think it's a super cute gift to give if you are looking to just give someone a little something or maybe add to another gift you are getting them. Either way, I bet they will love it!

These mugs do tend to sell out fast and they didn't have them in the store the other day when I went (they probably have them now), but they are selling them online now! This is what they look like if you want to go pick one up:

Let me know what you think of them!

Review: Trader Joe's Pumpkin Body Butter

Since I don't even know where to begin with this post, let's just say this: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product!! The Trader Joe's Pumpkin Body Butter has quickly become my absolute favorite beauty essential for Fall. If you love warm/pumpkin/spice/fall kinda scents then I'm pretty sure you will love this product.

As a body butter this product is a really thick lotion, but I find it rather moisturizing since it has coconut oil, shea butter & pumpkin seed oil in it! You have to really rub this in because it's so thick, but that's not that big of a deal to me! I normally would put a product like this on only at night, but I love the smell so much, as well as my arms/hands being moisturized, that I put this on multiple times a day. When I put it on, I generally wait a few minutes for it to dry before say leaning against the couch or something, and then you are good to go. I do put this on and hop right into bed at night though! I just don't like the nice furniture getting lotion on it.

I don't find this product greasy and I think it has a good creamy texture when you apply it. Additionally, the scent lasts throughout the day. You will notice yourself catching hints of its smell here and there! I think the smell is one of the reasons why I love the product so much.

As for price, unlike most body butters that range from $20 to $30, this one is around $5 making it super affordable, especially since the container holds 8 oz (227g). While that is a lot of product, at the rate I'm using mine so far, I purchased a second one just to stock up! Trader Joe's only sells this product during the fall pumpkin season!

I really like the packaging as well. The container has a twist on lid, but it also has a top that can open (seen in the picture below) making it easy to get product out of it! Also the sample on my finger below shows how the product is definitely a thicker consistency!

Here is a picture of the ingredients list from the back of the container! The front of the container also lists that the body butter is made with coconut oil, shea butter & pumpkin seed oil.

Overall, if you like fall scents and body butters in general, I think that for the price you should definitely at least give this product a try!

Happy Fall!!

How to Deep Clean your Makeup Brushes for Cheap - Easy & Affordable Method

Happy Wednesday everyone! So first of all, I apologize for not getting this video out sooner! I do try to upload my new videos every wednesday morning, but all yesterday as well as this morning I was studying for a math midterm so I didn't have time. Luckily though, I found some time this evening!

Anyways, I always feel that when people talk about how they deep clean their makeup brushes it involves mixing multiple products and going through a series of steps, which I just don't have time to do. Therefore, I wanted to share with you all my simple method which only involves ONE, yes one, product. That product is the Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo! If you're interested in how I clean my brushes with this product, check out my latest video:

Get Ready With Me! Homecoming 2014 Makeup, Hair & Dress

So it's finally that time of year! No no, not the holidays, but HOMECOMING! I may be in college but I still love seeing all the high schoolers dress up and decided that I wanted to film a GRWM to give you all a possible option for homecoming. While I do use many makeup products in this tutorial, the star of the show is the Stila In the Light Palette! This eye shadow palette is absolutely gorgeous and so universal; anyone can wear the eye shadows and so many different looks can be created with its 10 shades. I do have a review on it in my blog post down below, so check it out if you're interested!

As for my hair, I simply curled it using my Bed Head Rock 'n' Roller Curling Wand and then used a ton of hairspray to hold it in place! Then for my outfit, I wore a short black sweetheart neckline dress that has some black lace with tan fabric under in it on the bust. It was from Nordstrom last year so it's not available anymore, but I'm sure there are many similar options! Black is always an easy color to wear if you cannot decide or don't want to be too bold. For heels, I wore Steve Madden fawn (nude) pumps and used a matching Steve Madden clutch. For dances I always feel that bringing a clutch is a must because I always put hairbands, lipstick/lip gloss, my cell phone, and a few other miscellaneous things in it.

If you're interested in this video check it out:

Have a good homecoming girls!

Stila In the Light Eye Shadow Palette Review & Swatches

After much contemplation over whether to purchase the Stila In the Light Palette, I took the leap and I must say it was a great decision. Ulta was having a sale that reduced the palette price from $39 to $20 so in my mind, I couldn't go wrong! Anyways, if you are a person who loves more neutral colors, both matte & glitter, then you will probably enjoy this palette. Take a look at the swatches:

Picture above and below taken inside with flash.

colors from left to right: Bare, Kitten, Bliss, Sunset, Sandstone, Bubbly, Gilded Gold, Luster, Night Sky & Ebony

Picture above and below taken outside in natural lighting.

Since I'm still in the experimenting stage with this palette, I have yet to decide which eye shadow shades are my favorite, but I must say that I do really like all of them. I often wear more shimmery gold/silver shadows with matte tan/browns together so this palette is perfect for me. I find that the shadows have great pigmentation and are long-lasting. With Urban Decay's primer potion, they stay on my eyelids all day without creasing and look just as good at the end of my day as when I put them on in the morning. It does seem like if you didn't use a primer that you would have more fallout throughout the day, whereas with a primer the only fallout I have is a bit when I am first applying the more glittery shadows to my eyelids. The formula is not dry and not powdery (shadow doesn't fly up when you put your brush on the shadows in the palette). Also, I find the shadows to be smooth and creamy despite their more glittery appearance. I haven't tried the Damsel (brown) liner that it comes with that much yet, but I would say that at least for me it is smudge proof. When I swatched it on my hand it was hard to get off, but I really like that aspect. I hate when eyeliner moves around throughout the day.

the palette includes this mirror on the inside!

it also includes a Stila brown smudge stick waterproof liner.

Now to address what I don't like about this palette. The problem I have with it, luckily, is the not eyeshadows themselves, but the packaging. The cardboard is not the best quality and I feel that over time the palette lid will probably fly open versus stay in place. I can deal with this though because I love the eye shadows so much.

Let me know what you all think of the palette!

Get Ready With Me!! Shopping Day - Makeup & Outfit

Somehow it is once again Wednesday! It seems like a week flew by super fast! Anyways, now that I have wrapped up my back to school series, I'm back at it with more beauty related videos!

This look is a pretty look if you are looking to get slightly more dolled up when you go out shopping. Whether you are meeting a friend for lunch at the mall or just want to dress up more, this look is super cute! I do want to say that the eyeshadows I used in this tutorial are from a Clinique quad that came in a bonus when I purchased other items from Clinique. I know some people are selling this quad online, but you cannot actually purchase it from Clinique. On that note, the reason I used it is because I want to show you all how you definitely should make use of those free little bonus eyeshadows that you receive when you purchase other items. Often they are actually really pretty colors and from my experience, they have been good products that I enjoy.  Hope you like the video!

Summer's Coming to a Close

Happy Labor Day!!!

I know I mentioned how fast summer flew by the other day in one of my posts & I know technically summer isn't over, but since I start school tomorrow it's basically over (at least for me). Therefore, I wanted to share a few last summer photos I took yesterday while walking around the beach area! I feel like this summer was here and gone faster than any other summer I have had, but maybe that's just because I've noticed that the older I get, the faster the summers seem to go.

Despite my (end of summer) summertime sadness, I'm looking forward to a new school year, a new chapter, and praying that some amazing opportunities and experiences come my way! I wish the same for you all even if you aren't in school. Before we know it the holidays will be upon us, so until then, lets just enjoy every moment!

Take a look:

This umbrella was too adorable not to take a photo!

Happy Labor Day!!!

I also took some fun pictures inside stores that I wanted to show you all!

I absolutely love this little setup that I found in one of the stores I wandered into!

As always, I always have to take pictures of succulents when I see them! Putting all different types together makes for a really cute look!

If you can't tell, the store dipped paint stirrers into different color paints and hung them with string! I think this is such a cute idea!
