Review: Lush Ocean Salt Body & Face Scrub

Hey lovelies! Today I wanted to share a product I have been loving the past month, which is the Lush Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub!

At the beginning of January I picked this product up from my local Lush and since the very first use, I have loved it.

When you first get the product, you will notice that the top layer is blue (not pictured here). This is the salt where the exfoliating part of it is, so make sure to thoroughly mix this top layer into the bottom layer to evenly distribute the salt before using it. I mixed mine with a new Popsicle stick I picked up from my nearby craft store and after mixing it should look like mine does in the picture below.

Immediately upon opening the container, you will notice the scent of this scrub. The smell of it reminds me of a mixture of lime and of course the ocean, which I love, but you should definitely make sure to smell some of the sample scrub in store to make sure that you like the scent before purchasing.

I use this product about 2-3 times a week in the shower on my upper body and arms (I avoid my legs because if I just shaved, the salt will cause my legs to burn) and you don't need to use very much to get the job done.  This product is definitely an exfoliator, but I wouldn't say that it is too harsh because I have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me. I will say that I haven't tried it on my face because lately my face has been super irritated so I haven't been exfoliating as much.

After use, I can definitely say that my skin feels smoother and after I get out of the shower my skin continues to smell like the scrub for a while which I absolutely love, especially before going to bed.

Overall, I LOVE this product, though I don't know if I will repurchase it right away because it is rather expensive for the amount of product you get ($35.95 for 8.8 oz.). They also have a small size that contains 4.2 oz. for $21.95, but trust me, you will go through this small size super quickly.

Let me know what you all think of this product!

Casual OOTD for Winter

Hello loves! Yesterday I wore an outfit that I think everyone can recreate! It's a simple cozy look that with the addition of a necklace can become cozy chic.

To recreate this look, find any striped long-sleeve shirt in your closet and a pair of jeans that you find flattering and comfortable. I prefer a dark wash, but you do you. All of the items featured here are ones I already had, so I encourage you to search through your closet! The shirt is from Target & jeans are Abercrombie & Fitch.

To add some warmth, I paired the striped shirt with a black North Face vest and a Neff beanie! Both of which are a staple in my wardrobe as many of you know.

Then to make the look more stylish, I added a J Crew statement necklace, my Michael Kors gold watch, and a pair of black leather Steve Madden boots! I also paired this look with an old Louis Vuitton speedy.

While these may be recognizable brands, this look can absolutely be recreated using pieces from any brand.

I hope this inspires everyone to search in their closets to find pieces that can be put together to create a new look! It is something I do all the time and many times I'm amazed at the combos I come up with.

Love you all,
Kendall Lynn

Katy Perry Super Bowl 2015 Makeup Tutorial

Hope everyone is having a good evening! I'm sure many of you watched the Super Bowl last Sunday, which included Katy Perry's half-time show and if any of you are like me, you LOVED her makeup!

As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to do a tutorial on it, but with spring semester having started this week, I didn't think I would be able to do it due to lack of time. Luckily, I found some time yesterday to film a tutorial and spent much of my Sunday editing so I could get this video up!

This look features Katy's signature cat eye with glitter liner on top and a bold red lip! And just as a disclaimer since people were asking, no I did not get my nose pierced, it's a fake ;)

Enjoy!
