Embracing Boho

When I heard that 70s boho clothing was coming back into style this Fall (read about this season's trends here), all that I could think about was flares and fringe! Don't get me wrong, I love my skinny jeans, but on a tall girl like me, flares are just so flattering. They are instant leg slimmers!! As you can probably already tell, I could seriously go on for days about my love for flared pants, but today the star of the show is this boho fringe top!

Now we may only be four days into Fall, but I'm already thinking that this Cheerful Chic Boutique top will be my favorite article of clothing this season. How cute would this be for Thanksgiving?! I love how it is flowy and the sleeves are oversized! It is definitely unlike anything else I own and then of course the fringe on the bottom is the icing on the cake!

Since the main pieces like the top and pants were more on the simple side (which is what I LOVE about them), I added to the look by wearing more jewelry than I usually do. Also, can we note how all of the jewelry I'm wearing is silver!! Lately I've been more into gold jewelry, but I think that with this outfit silver looks so classic.

What's Trending This Fall

Guess what day it is?! Here's a hint...think pumpkin spice lattes, sweaters and boots! Yes, that's right, it's officially the first day of Fall!! I seriously cannot contain my excitement. There is just something I love about the weather getting cooler (though it's still in the 90s here in the Golden State), the leaves starting to fall, and of course FALL FASHION!

About a month ago, I attended the Neiman Marcus Trend Report, hosted by the lovely Lyndi from Lyndi in the City. The fashion show featured many trends that are going to be popular this Fall and I'm in love with basically every look! I've been waiting to share them with you and with it being the first day of Fall, I could not think of a more perfect day.

  1. The first major trend is white on white! Yes...white after Labor Day!! I'm sure you are just as shocked as I was, but inside I was secretly excited! I love white! There is something so clean  and refreshing about it.
  2. If you haven't noticed yet, every store is filled with 70s bohemian / folklorica style clothing! I never would have thought that flared pants and fringe would come back in style, but they both have and I have to say that I'm loving it!
  3. Bold reds!!! I feel like red always gains popularity in the Fall, but this season it is even more in style! I need to jump on this trend because I realized that besides a couple t-shirts (and red lipstick of course), I don't really have a lot of red things. Off to the mall I go...
  4. As you will see in the pictures, there are hints of the Victorian era. This is definitely more of an interesting trend, but I feel that it can be incorporated into your wardrobe subtly.
  5. Fur is another huge trend this season. I think fur vests are so stylish and surprisingly they can be dressed up or dressed down depending on what you pair with it.
  6. Mixing prints may be my favorite trend this season! Sometimes pairing two prints that you normally wouldn't think to put together creates the best combos.
All of these trends really stood out in the fashion show as you will see below. I think my favorite look  is the last one. The white jumpsuit is so modern looking, but I love the edgy vibes from the black leather jacket and clutch as well as the spikes on the heels.

Keeping It Real

Lately life has been crazy! It seems like everyday I have a list of things to do that is so long it might as well be an essay...okay maybe I'm exaggerating, but seriously, life is busy right now! With the everyday hustle and bustle, sometimes there just isn't time to put together that red carpet worthy outfit, but that doesn't mean that you have to throw on a old t-shirt. I mean there's nothing wrong with that, but it's easier than you would think to pull together a semi-stylish look!

Recently, I've found myself focusing on three ways to pull a look together when I'm in a hurry. First, I have been mixing prints a ton! This is going to be a huge trend for fall, so why not start early! I love how the checkered print of the Louis Vuitton Speedy looks with the abstract pattern on the dress. Second, I have been layering my jewelry! I think that pairing a few necklaces together makes an outfit look like you put in way more effort than you actually did. This necklace is a convertible piece from Chloe + Isabel where you can wear the three necklaces together like I did or you can separate them for three different looks! Though it's technically not layering, I also like wearing multiple rings of the same metal finish to add to an outfit. Third, I put on a cute pair of sandals! Shoes can really make or break an outfit so I think that it's essential to make sure that your sandals (or whatever shoes you choose) perfectly match the look!

Summer may not be "officially" over, but with school having started back up, in my book it's basically Fall! With that being said, all I can think about is the Fall color palette. I just love neutrals and it's a plus that my brown hair looks wonderful with taupes & dark greens. I am in LOVE with this  flared dress {under $35!!} and the Chloe & Isabel wrap bracelet is the perfect way to add a pop of color and some bling to an outfit! I seriously want everything I'm sharing...minus the bill though ;) I may just have to stick with purchasing a couple of these for now! What are your Fall picks that you have your eye on?! Let me know in the comments!

Dressed Like a DayDream

We may be heading towards Fall, but if you check the calendar, it's still Summer! We have until September 23rd to be exact! With that being said, in my mind, wearing bright Summer colors is totally appropriate, even though I'm guilty of wearing those colors long after the first day of Fall. That's just what happens when you live in California and it's hot until December. Sometimes it seems like Fall isn't even a season here. I'm sure that by now you've gotten an idea of what this look is going to involve and if not, there's pictures below ;)

Today I'm wearing this beautiful DayDream Believer maxi dress from a company called The Lil Pink House (such a cute name right?!)! I love how the vibrant colors of this dress just pop and the pattern of it is so detailed! I've already worn this dress numerous times and I have received so many compliments on it! It's truly a unique dress and I've never seen anything like it.

I love how the dress has a mid-calf slit on the one side and how the back is open with thin straps! It also has a cute string around the waist allowing you to accentuate your waist. All the details of this dress are seriously perfection! I think it's important to note that The Lil Pink House made online shopping (which I normally am not a fan of) so easy! They answered all my questions about the dress quickly and were very friendly. Combine a great dress with a company that has excellent customer service and I'm in!

Can we also talk about how gorgeous the jewelry is that I've paired with this look?! All of the pieces are from Chloe & Isabel and while they are stunning with this Summery look, I think they would be perfect pieces to incorporate into a Fall wardrobe. I love how the ring is an open band and has the matching bracelet! Then of course the necklace just speaks for itself! I can't stop staring at it!

Rocksbox Review + Get Free Subscription!!

Happy Thursday loves! As many of you have probably noticed, monthly subscriptions are really popular right now! It seems like every week there is some new subscription for something that just makes life a little easier. With so many companies selling these subscriptions for clothes, beauty products & everything in between, it only makes sense that there would be one for jewelry right?! Luckily, a company called Rocksbox has solved this dilemma.

If you haven't heard of it, Rocksbox is a monthly jewelry styling service. After signing up, you select pieces from the website that you love and add them to your wish list so your Rocksbox stylist can get an idea of what you like. Once that step is complete, your box is sent to you with three pieces of jewelry that you can wear as much as you like! When you decide that you want new jewelry to wear, all you have to do is send the jewelry back in the bag it came in and then Rocksbox will send out three new pieces! What I really love is that if you fall in love with a piece you can purchase it at a discounted rate. Designer pieces like Kendra Scott's tassel necklaces at a discount?! Yes please!! Before diving into the rest of my review, I wanted to let you know that you can receive a free month of Rocksbox (regularly $19 a month), with the code beautybykendalllynnxoxo. Trust me, you will love this subscription!

I'm honestly so impressed by this company! When I opened my Rocksbox, I was greeted by the cutest packaging (I'm a person who loves attention to detail, you feel me right...), which you can see in the pictures below! Everything was super girly and I love how it was personalized with my name inside.

Now of course, the important part is the jewelry. In my first box, I received the Gorjana Tanner Bar Small Necklace in gold, the SLATE Skyline Necklace, & the Wanderlust + Co Claw Pave Ring in gold. All the pieces came neatly wrapped in bubble wrap and various little bags to ensure that they stayed safe while being mailed and when I pulled each of them out of their bags, they were in amazing shape.

Honestly, I'm in love with the pieces I got in this box! They were all my style and I have been wearing them a ton. I will be styling these pieces soon with outfits that I will share here on the blog, so until then, the individual pictures of these items are below!

Overall, I love this monthly subscription! I think that it's definitely worth the money and even if you aren't sure about it, you should try it out since with my code you can get a free month of jewelry! What do you all think of this company?! Have you tried Rocksbox?
