OOTD

Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend! I cannot believe how fast this summer flew by!
Anyways, I just wanted to share a easy OOTD with you all. This look is super easy and you definitely can recreate it with similar pieces that you probably already have in your closet!

I also took some fun pictures inside stores that I wanted to show you all!

I absolutely love this little setup that I found in one of the stores I wandered into!

As always, I always have to take pictures of succulents when I see them! Putting all different types together makes for a really cute look!

If you can't tell, the store dipped paint stirrers into different color paints and hung them with string! I think this is such a cute idea!

DIY Lilly Pulitzer Binder Covers || Back to School Series

Hope everyone's wednesday is off to a good start! So it's that time of year again...no it's not the most wonderful time of year...it's BACK TO SCHOOL time! While I often dread this time of year, getting new supplies & coming up with cute school DIY projects are always a blast! I do have a school supply haul video coming soon, but until then, I wanted to share with you all my DIY Lilly Pulitzer Binder Covers!! I am so obsessed with Lilly because the prints and patterns are so cute (if you don't know what I'm talking about go google Lilly Pulitzer now!!) so I was inspired to make binder covers with the designs.

If you're interested in seeing how I made them please watch the video below! Note: I did use random initials in the monogram in this video because I wanted to see how different initials looked! Enjoy!

Friday Finds & OOTD

Hope everyone had a wonderful friday!! I spent it wondering down by the beach and wanted to share with you all!

Though I didn't purchase these today, these items are some of my friday finds:

I love little ring dishes like these! Not only are they super cute, but they are a great place to put your most worn rings and smaller jewelry when you get home from work, school, etc. An item like this makes for a perfect hostess gift, going away (to college) gift, or just because gift simply because it pretty & thoughtful. Plus there are such a variety of types that you can really find one that fits a particular person.

Another item that I absolutely LOVE are these Primitives by Kathy wooden quote signs! I own many and happened to find this one day. There are so many different signs that the line definitely has at least one quote you will love!

Lastly, I spent part of my day at the Montage! I really enjoy just walking around the area and taking in the beautiful scenery the resort has to offer! Here are some pictures!

OOTD!

I decided it was finally time to wear the new shirt I bought last friday (see blog post 2 down) and after contemplating what to pair it with I decided a black high-waisted skirt & my new J Crew statement necklace (also purchased last week) were the best options. Pairing a looser shirt with a high tight-waisted skirt can really emphasize your body, especially if you have a skinnier waist and then wider hips like I do. I threw on some random gold bracelets, my new black felt hat, black sunglasses, and my steve madden sandals, then grabbed my faux ostrich skin handbag & I was ready for the day!

Hey everyone!
So I was on youtube late last night just watching a bunch of different videos when I came across Taylor Swift's new music video for her new song "Shake it off" and after watching it (a few times), I became obsessed with her "hip hop" makeup look! That was the look she wore with the varsity-style hooded jacket and hat. It's so simple, yet so cute & definitely one of T. Swift's more recent signature looks! So I decided to recreate it for you all!

Check out how I recreated her look below!

I love that this look can be done rather quickly and can be worn to a variety of events, whether that be going out to lunch with friends or going on a date. It can look super cute with a patterned dress or more edgy with a black leather jacket and skinny jeans.

Succulents, Shopping & Surroundings

As promised in my last post, I wanted to share with you all some of the cute pictures I took from my shopping day!

I would say I think, but I actually know for certain that we often take the quaintness of the little things & the beauty of our surroundings for granted. In a world where everyone is constantly on the go from sunup to sundown, I challenge everyone to take a step back and admire the true beauty this world has to offer. That's what I did while at this eco-friendly outdoor shopping area (seriously it can be any place) and it made my day. I absolutely adore succulents and seeing the little potted ones, I think I want to try to make some myself.

Also, how cute are these little mail boxes all staggered around each other. I walked past these & they caught my eye (how could they not!). I loved them so much that I made sure to take a picture for myself as well as to share with you all. I like how the differing heights and colors of the mail boxes gives each individual one its own character.

Finally, I had to take some pictures of these parking spaces! It was so cute how each space had its own little saying on it! I parked in the one that said Smile and well...it made me smile lol (totally cheesy i know), but sometimes the littlest things can be the most special, sometimes the littlest things are what makes life so beautiful.

Take a moment to sit back & relax today! Happy Sunday!

Friday Finds!

Today I had a fun little shopping adventure that led me to wandering outdoor eco-friendly boutiques & browsing large-scale malls.  (More photos will come soon, but those will be in a different post!) Some days you just have to give in and purchase those items you have had your eyes on & I can definitely say that today was one of those days. Remember to occasionally treat yourself :)

Purchases:

Chloe K Shirt
(in stores, not online yet)
I had my eye on this grey and black striped oversized shirt from BP at Nordstrom & finally decided that it was necessity. Better to buy it now then regret not purchasing it a few months down the road, which I do all too often. You know how that goes! I think this shirt is very versatile. It can be worn with a pair of boyfriend jeans for a casual day out or can be jazzed up with black leather jeggings & a statement necklace for a night on the town. I'm sure I will end up doing an OOTD with this shirt later on!

Abercrombie Bootcut Jeans
(on sale at store, cannot find specific link)

As for these jeans, they are just a basic bootcut from Abercrombie. I have always loved their jeans and I think a dark wash is perfect for fall.

I think my absolute favorite purchase from the day is this J Crew Stone Frame statement necklace! It is absolutely gorgeous and I already can think of so many outfits I can pair this with for all seasons. I loved it so much that after I bought it I put it on and wore it today! You will see me wearing it today further down on this post. It comes in 3 different color schemes (this one is the Pebble one) and is currently on sale at J Crew online & in stores.

So  I may be late to this craze, but I also purchased my very first top from Lululemon today! Isn't this camo print to die for?!? The lady at the store said women are buying all the camo print clothing items like crazy. I can't wait to work out in this.

The last purchase was a Billabong purse for school! I really like this bag because it is rather sturdy and even has a little compartment for my laptop inside. Plus the print on it is adorable.

Here's a glimpse at today's look!

As summer is drawing to a close, I figured that I better wear those bold vibrant summer colors a few more times. It was quite warm outside today so this light dress was perfect & I paired it with my Kate Spade purse I received as a gift from my aunt/uncle/cousins for my birthday. Don't be afraid of having a pop of neon in your wardrobe! Having neon pops here and there can spice up your outfit & draw attention to it. Neon can seem intimidating, I get that, but when worn as an accent color or on an accessory, it can amplify a look in ways that other pieces cannot. As for accessories (besides the purse), I paired this dress with my favorite sandals by Sam Edelman & wore a cheap pair of tortoise shell sunglasses from Forever 21! I'm always dropping my sunglasses so I just can't get myself to purchase an expensive pair of glasses, especially when cheaper alternatives like these ones are so stylish and AFFORDABLE!

Here's a more up-close picture of the dress! I love the vibrant colors and floral print!

OOTD

Happy Thursday everyone!

So I'm a little behind, but wanted to share my Outfit of the Day (OOTD) with you all!

Summer may be coming to a close, but with all the warm weather that will continue probably into late October, mixing darker colored dresses and some fall-like accessories can be a great way to jump into the season early while still remaining cool and comfortable! It isn't time to pull out those knitted scarves, dark jeans, and leather boots yet! Links to outfit pieces are down at the bottom!

The look:

What is great about a darker floral print like this is that it definitely can be worn in the fall as well. Add some black leggings or tights and leather boots or booties & some accessories and you automatically have a brand new look! These bandeaus are a staple in my wardrobe (I have them in multiple colors!). They may be a little pricey, but they have lasted me years. There are also tons of more affordable options at BP in Nordstrom & other places.

As for accessories, I kept it simple today with just a Michael Kors gold watch and a black felt hat (my latest purchase that I'm OBSESSED with).
gold watch

black felt hat

I was doing a lot of walking yesterday so I had changed my shoes into the always comfortable Rainbow Sandals, but prior to walking, I was wearing the most comfortable sandals I own, my Sam Edelman 'Gigi' sandals in the Saddle Leather color. And when I'm walking around & don't want to be carrying a super bulky purse, I love using my black Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Classic Q Natasha - Mini' Crossbody Flap Bag.

Hope you all like this look! You can definitely re-create this look with less expensive pieces, look at Forever 21! I love that place!
