Holiday Mantle Decor

There are so many things that I love about the holidays: the lights, the sense of community, going to my church's Christmas service...I could go on and on. One of the things on this list of many that I wanted to share today is my holiday mantle decor. I believe the fireplace area is a key spot in everyone's home. It's a place where people can gather and spend time with one another during the chilly holiday season. With that being said, I always like to make sure my mantle decorations are just perfect to create more of a festive mood.

It's hard to find the perfect balance of decorations, but I think I nailed it this year. My style of Christmas decor is more traditional with the reds and greens, but this year I wanted to incorporate more silvers and golds into the mix. The extra shine and glitter just makes everything look more festive (or maybe I just have an obsession with sparkly things!) and I've definitely seen a trend moving towards metallics over the past few holiday seasons.

I love sitting a wreath on the middle of the mantle because it's something that you wouldn't normally do and it really draws your attention upward from the stockings below. Speaking of stockings, since I personally didn't want hooks hanging from the mantle to hold them, my tip is to use a fireplace screen and hang them from it. To be honest, we rarely use our fireplace, but if you're going to be using yours, you probably want to shy away from this tip. Also, I love pairing little votive candles with larger candle hurricanes on the mantle to bring some other shapes into the overall look. Then I just added a cute snowman and some Christmas signs! I hope this helps if you're looking for a little holiday mantle inspiration!

Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Her

While the bigger gifts you receive for the holidays can be pretty exciting, growing up, I always loved opening my stocking stuffers! There is something so fun about the smaller gifts and many of times I received unique little items I wouldn't have expected. It seems as though many people get the bigger Christmas items crossed off their list, but them panic trying to find the stocking stuffers, so this year, I wanted to share some ideas that would be perfect for women. I honestly think this anti-stress coloring book is such a cool gift & this lipgloss...lets just say its amazing!! Want to give something trendy? Faux fur pompom bag charms are definitely in style. I've been seeing them EVERYWHERE I go while out doing my Christmas shopping and well, I ended up purchasing one for myself! Do you have any good stocking stuffer ideas?

The Denim Lab Style

If I'm being honest, sometimes finding the right pair of jeans can be difficult! I always end up buying the wrong size or not trying on a certain pair because I don't think they will look good on me...yes, I could go on and on. Recently though, I had the opportunity to visit The Denim Lab and I can definitely say that after my visit I have found the right fit!

Located at The District, The Denim Lab is a store whose main goal is to help people find the perfect pair of jeans! With its Jean Genie, a customer can be guaranteed to have expert help in finding a pair that not only fits size wise, but also goes with one's style and body type. Trust me, with 14 premium brands and a large number of styles and colors, this store truly has a pair of jeans for everyone. I definitely plan on heading back soon to not only shop for more jeans (I can never have enough!), but to shop their large selection of super cute tops!

For today's outfit, I went for a bolder look with this patterned top & cranberry lip, but balanced it by pairing it with some classic pieces like my new favorite bucket bag and go-to floppy hat. I am obsessed with the flowy Free People top I'm wearing in this look and don't even get me started about the pants I have on! I like how the trim of the ankle is distressed and in general, the pants are SO comfy. I honestly never would have picked them out for myself, but after the Jean Genie, Mike, encouraged me to just try them on, I fell in love. They fit me perfectly.

Gifts for the Beauty Lover

Gifts for the Beauty Lover

Since it's the time of year where many of us are stressing over finding the perfect gifts for all the loved ones in our lives, I'm hoping I can ease some of your burden this year with a series of gift guide posts! For this first gift guide I'm sharing, I wanted to focus on all things beauty (my fave!!). I'm sure many of you get into the habit of repurchasing the same makeup items all the time. While this is totally acceptable, I think the holidays are a great time to give someone (or maybe treat yo'self to) beauty-related items that they normally wouldn't purchase for themselves. Last year for Christmas I received the Clarisonic Mia 2 and I have been loving it all year long! It makes for an amazing gift that's totally unexpected. If you want to spend a little less, you could give a sparkly nail polish like this one (it would look cute gifted in a cello bag with a ribbon) or you could pick up the Beautyblender, which is one of my holy grail products! Whatever you end up choosing, I'm sure it will be perfect! It really is the thought that counts!

Also, if you want some more ideas, watch the video below to see the products I was loving in November! Many of these items would be perfect for stocking stuffers!

The Perfect Plaid

I'm sure we can all relate to having WAY too many scarves in our closet (or is it just me?!). I have so many different ones of various textures, prints, fabrics; you name it, I probably have it! With that being said, the last thing I need to buy is another scarf, but when I was gifted this one over the Thanksgiving holiday, I fell in love!

Plaid scarves can be hard because they often have colors in them that don't go with many items in your wardrobe, so when I laid my eyes on this one, I knew it was perfect! Camel, black, and white are colors that go with so many of my clothing items because all three are neutral colors (my fave!!). With this perfect plaid scarf as my inspiration piece, I styled this beautiful neutral look that is definitely going to be one of my go-to outfits!

With the scarf making a statement itself, I decided to keep the rest of the look simple, pairing some of my favorite basics with it such as these Hudson jeans and my beloved pointy flats! The shirt is actually old, but I'm sure every girl has a basic cream top in their closet that would work just as well. Then for a pop of color amongst this very neutral palette, I put on my FAVORITE red lipstick that's actually from the drugstore! Yay for affordable makeup!
